About Us

The Women’s Health Group was established in 2006 by consultants and gynecologists who wanted to give women a new experience with respect to pregnancy and gynecologic problems. The Women’s Health Group expanded to form 3D Baby and South East fertility services. The Women’s Health Group currently has two Obstetricians/ Gynecologists and two midwives who are available for all women’s health care needs. These needs begin at adolescent and continue through to menopause. The core service that is offered at the Women’s Health Group is that of pregnancy care and we look after over 500 pregnant women a year that deliver in St Luke’s hospital. The consultants also have wide experience in all aspects of women’s health care and have admitting privileges to St Luke’s hospital and Aut Even hospital. Their particular areas of interest include bladder and prolapse problems, infertility, endometriosis, and pelvic pain, and also offer a modern approach to surgical options.

The services of 3D Baby are available to all pregnant women wishing to have ultrasounds performed of their baby. 3D Baby understand that the hospitals often can’t perform the number of ultrasounds that they would like and therefore this service is available to both private and public patients. 3 dimensional and 4 dimensional ultrasound is generally performed between 26 and 32 weeks of pregnancy. At this scan women will be given a dvd of the scan plus a number of photographs which are in colour. 3D Baby also offers 2 dimensional ultrasound which is the traditional form of ultrasound which is done in pregnancy for all patients. We often to do this early on in pregnancy to confirm that the pregnancy is going well but also we perform it at 20 weeks to try and ensure that the babies we scan are healthy and if there are any problems women can be referred to appropriate hospitals and consultants as required. 3 dimensional ultrasounds does not detect major problems with babies and this issue is best addressed at the time of the 20 week scan. 3 dimensional ultrasounds offers women and their families an opportunity to see the baby move, smile, grimace, suck their thumbs months in advance of the birth.

South East Fertility Services has recently been set up to look after the fertility needs of couples in the South East of the country.
